V. Gecevičius, a well-known figure in Lithuanian basketball, shares his thoughts on current basketball events in Lithuania and reflects on his rich experiences in the sport. Originally from the small village of Imbradas near the Latvian border, he moved to Vilnius during the late 1980s, where he remains active in the basketball community.

Currently working at the Capital Basketball School, Gecevičius is involved with the next generation of coaches and youth players, emphasizing a more peaceful life while still remaining active in basketball. He recalls his early days of training with the Vilnius 'Statyba' junior team and pursuing a career in the construction sector after graduating from the Vilnius Engineering Construction Institute.

His return to the basketball scene in 1999 marked a significant turning point, as he took up various roles within the Lithuanian basketball federation, contributing to promotions and services.
