Roma x Getulândia Road will remain closed this Thursday and Friday
The Roma x Getulândia road connecting Volta Redonda to the Costa Verde region will be closed on Thursday and Friday for asphalt work completion.
The Roma x Getulândia road, which serves as a crucial link between Volta Redonda and the Costa Verde region, is set to remain closed on May 5th and 6th to facilitate the completion of asphalt work. The closure will apply from 8 AM to 6 PM, specifically on the segment between the popular 'pastel point' in the Santa Isabel neighborhood and the start of the Roma x Getulândia road. In the meantime, the Municipal Guard will be deployed to guide motorists through the area during the closure.
As part of the ongoing maintenance efforts, the Volta Redonda City Hall reported that on May 2nd, preparatory work including cleaning and milling of the asphalt was completed on a section known as 'Serrinha.' This phased approach is essential to ensure that the road can be safely and effectively resurfaced, thereby enhancing the travel experience for users once the work is finalized. However, local officials have indicated that further road closures may be necessary in the future as additional maintenance projects are planned.
The closure of such a key roadway underscores the commitments of local government to infrastructure improvements aimed at improving connectivity in the region. Ensuring that roads are well-maintained is vital not only for daily commuters but also for the economic development of the Costa Verde region which attracts both residents and tourists. The public is urged to heed the directions of local authorities and plan their travel accordingly until the road is opened once again.
