Ukrainian defense company DeViRo has recently showcased its latest development, the Sokyra (Hatchet) interceptor drone, during the Protection of Infrastructure and Industry forum. This drone prototype has now entered the crucial final stage of testing, signaling a significant advancement in Ukraine’s drone technology amid ongoing military developments. The Sokyra is designed for high-speed operations, boasting speeds of up to 240 km/h and an operational range of 45 km, allowing it to serve effectively in a variety of military contexts.

The features of the Sokyra reflect the increasing need for advanced and agile technology in the face of ongoing conflict. The drone is capable of staying airborne for approximately 30 minutes, and it can carry a warhead weighing 750 grams, making it suitable for both reconnaissance and strike missions. The innovative use of pneumatic catapult launch systems that can be mounted on vehicles increases its operational flexibility, enhancing its usability in fast-paced military scenarios.

Additionally, the Sokyra’s design incorporates an inertial navigation system and autopilot features, promoting high levels of autonomy. It also benefits from integration with advanced radar systems and software solutions, further enhancing its operational capabilities.
