The Lithuanian government has designated €710.5 million from its State Defense Fund to bolster its national security in accordance with established defense laws. This funding is primarily aimed at developing the capabilities of national divisions, enhancing the infrastructure for German brigades stationed in the country, and increasing civil safety measures. Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas emphasized that around 15% of the overall defense budget is directed towards these priorities, underscoring the importance of strengthening Lithuania's defense capabilities amidst growing regional security concerns.

A significant portion of the allocated funds, approximately €504.7 million, is earmarked for enhancing the national division's operational capacity. These investments are expected to cover the acquisitions of military equipment including infantry fighting vehicles, tanks, and simulation systems. The financing will be managed by the Defense Resources Agency under the Ministry of National Defense, ensuring that the resources are used effectively and efficiently to upgrade Lithuania's military preparedness.
