Estere Volfa, a promising Latvian biathlete, achieved a remarkable victory at the World Junior Championships in Germany by winning the gold medal in the women's 7.5 km sprint event. During the race, she demonstrated exceptional skill, making only one shooting error in the prone position, while flawlessly hitting all targets while standing, finishing with a time of 21 minutes and 39.8 seconds.

Volfa's performance was particularly impressive as she outpaced her competitors, including Finnish athlete Inka Hamalainen, who took the silver medal but finished 53.9 seconds behind Volfa. German athlete Sidney Westling rounded out the podium in third place, lagging by a minute and 7.2 seconds. Notably, both Hamalainen and Westling also made one mistake in their prone shooting, showcasing the high-pressure environment of competitive biathlon where precision is critical.
