Sustainable Fashion Show Will Take Place in the Former Riga Stock Exchange Bank Building
A sustainable fashion festival, Bourzma Boutique, will take place in Riga, showcasing eco-friendly designs and practices.
The sustainable fashion and youth culture festival 'Bourzma Boutique' is set to feature its opening event on May 21, 2026, at the historic Riga Stock Exchange bank building on Pils Street. This year's festival will unfold over two distinct venues in Riga, merging the historical setting of the bank with a redevelopment industrial area in GrΔ«ziΕkalns, thus creating a fascinating contrast for attendees across both days.
The former Stock Exchange bank, which has historical ties to capital and economic circulation, will serve as a platform to explore ideas related to the circular economy and showcase the work of a new generation of designers. On the festival's first day, 10 jury-selected designers from Latvia and other European countries will present their collections, highlighting sustainable fashion as a viable and contemporary alternative to the fast-fashion industry.
This event not only marks a significant step in promoting sustainable fashion in Latvia but also emphasizes the need for eco-friendly practices within the fashion industry as a whole. By integrating innovative design with historical context, the festival aims to inspire both consumers and industry stakeholders to embrace a more sustainable approach to fashion, thus contributing to broader environmental goals and awareness.
