The Aesthetics of a New Era: The Spring RFW Image Presented
The Baltic Fashion Federation and Riga Fashion Week organizers have revealed the visual identity for the upcoming spring season, emphasizing a blend of romanticism and rigor.
The Baltic Fashion Federation and organizers of Riga Fashion Week have announced the visual theme for the spring season, scheduled for implementation in mid-April. This year's theme embodies a collective image of women, merging the elements of romanticism with rigor, as well as tradition with avant-garde styles. The lead stylist and artistic director, Anatolijs Ksenofontovs, is at the forefront of this creative direction.
Anatolijs explained that the concept originated from reflections on the transformation of femininity in contemporary times. He draws inspiration from the 'aesthetics of the new era', which represents a convergence of haute couture traditions with digital futurism. In this new interpretation, classical styles are no longer seen as oppositional to experimentation; instead, they serve as a foundation for innovation, reflecting the evolving nature of fashion and identity.
A notable piece within the theme is a voluminous white dress that evokes a wedding atmosphere, created by Latvian designer Anna Gulbe. Rather than being a symbol of naivety, it is reimagined for 2026 as a pure canvas for self-expression. Accompanying this dress is a structured corset, which symbolizes both internal support and control of form, suggesting that it does not constrain but rather disciplines strength and creativity, reinforcing the modern woman's multifaceted identity in fashion.
