State Language Proficiency Certificate: Exams on 16-17/5, Applications from 6-13/3
Greece's Ministry of Education announces the schedule for the State Language Proficiency Certificate exams and the application timeline for candidates.
The Greek Ministry of Education, Religion, and Sports has announced the timeline for the 2026 State Language Proficiency Certificate exams. Candidates can apply electronically from March 6 to March 13, 2026, for the examination sessions set for May 16 and 17. The certificate assesses proficiency in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with various levels of assessment from elementary to excellent knowledge.
The exams will cover three levels of language proficiency: A1-A2, B1-B2, and C1-C2, with a unified graded examination for each proficiency pair. This structured assessment allows candidates to demonstrate their language skills effectively. With the deadline for applications approaching, prospective participants are encouraged to complete the necessary stages of the application process well before the deadline to ensure their participation in the examinations.
This initiative is part of Greece's ongoing efforts to standardize language proficiency qualifications, which are essential for both academic and professional opportunities. By providing these assessments, the Ministry aims to improve language competency among Greeks and align with European standards in language education, enhancing the employability of candidates in an increasingly globalized job market.
