The Greek public real estate management company, ETA, has entered into a significant lease agreement with the Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa for the renowned Averof Greek School located in Alexandria, Egypt. This decision symbolizes a notable historical collaboration and has been formalized by ETA's CEO, Iro Chatzigeorgiou, and the Patriarch, Theodoros II, marking a pivotal moment for the future of Hellenic education in the region. The signing ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the bishop of Mariout, Damaskinos, and other senior officials from ETA.
The lease agreement spans 20 years and intends to develop a modern educational facility under the auspices of the Patriarchate that will promote the study and dissemination of Hellenic culture and philosophy. As part of this initiative, a new higher education institution focusing on Philosophical and Humanities Studies is planned to be established. This school is expected to offer departments specializing in History, Archaeology, Greek Philosophy, and Greek Literature, which will further enrich the academic landscape of the region and enhance cultural ties to Greece.
