In the Seimas – a decision that could be important for many landowners

Lithuanian parliament members have approved changes to the Administrative Offenses Code that may eliminate mandatory boundary markers on land plots.

On Wednesday, members of the Lithuanian parliament's Committee on Legal Affairs reached a consensus to approve amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code (ANK) which could significantly impact landowners. One of the authors of the proposal, MP Simonas Gentvilas, expressed the need to rescind penalties for not having boundary markers defining land plots. The committee's earlier deliberations highlighted the shift away from mandatory boundary markers, allowing landowners the freedom to decide whether or not to have them.
