Ukrainian Contra-Drone unveils new compact radar capable of detecting targets at range of 15 km
Ukrainian company Contra-Drone has introduced a compact radar system capable of identifying aerial targets from a distance of 15 kilometers.
Ukrainian company Contra-Drone recently unveiled a new radar system, the CD-T10, along with a drone detector called Sense 4, at the War 2026: Human vs Machines conference. This innovative radar operates in the X-band and is designed to detect aerial targets at distances of up to 15 kilometers and altitudes of up to 3 kilometers. It specifically aims to identify various sizes of drones, including larger loitering munitions like the Shahed, as well as smaller first-person view (FPV) drones.
The CD-T10 radar employs advanced algorithms to filter out unnecessary signals, enabling precise identification of aerial targets. It can even differentiate between birds and other flying objects based on specific signatures, which include the analysis of radar cross-section, speed, and movement patterns. This capability significantly enhances situational awareness for military and security applications in Ukraine, where drone technology has become increasingly important in ongoing conflicts.
The introduction of the CD-T10 radar highlights Ukraine's efforts to advance its defense technologies, particularly in the realm of counter-drone systems. The focus on developing compact and efficient detection equipment like the CD-T10 reflects the growing reliance on drone warfare in modern conflicts, and it demonstrates the countryβs commitment to enhancing its defensive capabilities against aerial threats.
