Tatoi: The exhibition at the Palace progresses after the 'green light' from the Museum Council
The permanent exhibition at the Tatoi Palace is being enriched with new findings following a positive recommendation from the Museum Council.
The Tatoi Palace is set to enhance its permanent exhibition with new artifacts following the approval from the Museum Council. These additions are derived from a substantial collection of 100,000 objects discovered on the estate, which includes a diverse array of items such as the wedding dress of Frederica, the bicycle of King George I, military uniforms, artistic works, valuable tableware, and rare photographs that capture the royal bedrooms and salons' atmosphere.
Culture Minister Lina Mendoni emphasized the smooth progression of the exhibition at the former royal estate's palace, aided by the Museum Council's favorable advice on the updated implementation study. As the documentation of movable items from Tatoiβs collections progresses rapidly by the National Monuments Archive Management Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, there has arisen a necessity for the enrichment and modification of the museological and museographic implementation study that had previously been reviewed.
These developments not only aim to preserve and showcase the rich history associated with the Greek monarchy but also reflect a broader effort to enhance cultural heritage and bolster tourism. The Tatoi estate, once a primary residence for the Greek royal family, now seeks to attract visitors and educate the public about its historical significance through these proposed enhancements.
