The first constructions of the 'Mada' shopping center are rising: see it
The construction of the new 'Mada' shopping center in Lithuania is progressing smoothly, with significant milestones achieved despite a challenging winter.
In Lithuania, the development of the new 'Mada' shopping center is well underway, with Irmantas Degutis, the development manager of the project by 'Baltisches Haus,' and KΔstutis Vanagas, the general director of the contractor 'YIT Lietuva,' confirming that work is proceeding on schedule. Notably, the construction has not been hindered by the unusually cold winter, and the addition of a second crane is expected to accelerate progress further. Additionally, the project has been awarded a BREEAM 'Interim' sustainability certificate, achieving one of the highest 'Excellent' ratings, indicative of its commitment to sustainable practices.
During the initial months of reconstruction, nearly 30,000 square meters of the old 'Mada' shopping center building were demolished, marking a significant step in the revitalization of the area. The preparatory phase of the reconstruction was carried out smoothly and took about three months, allowing the team to focus on progressing to the next stages of construction. The successful completion of the demolition phase is crucial as it is often the most sensitive for local residents and the implementation team, and timely clearance of the area has enabled the preparation of foundation pits for the new structure.
As the project advances, both the development team and the local community are optimistic about the upcoming phases of construction, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of the newly redesigned shopping center while considering the welfare of nearby residents. The focus now shifts to ensuring that all further developments align with the planned timeline and quality standards, as the community anticipates the construction of a modern, sustainable shopping venue that will serve the area's needs for years to come.
