A significant fire broke out in a ground-floor apartment of a multi-family building in Grafarholt around 4 AM last night, prompting a response from the local fire department. Two individuals were in the apartment but managed to escape on their own without sustaining any injuries. Fire chief Davíð Friðjónsson reported that all available personnel were dispatched to manage the situation effectively, successfully extinguishing the fire by 5 AM.
