House caught fire in Troms - two people evacuated by a passerby
A house in Kongsvik, Troms, caught fire, with two individuals evacuated by a passerby who noticed the blaze.
In the early hours of Thursday, a residential fire broke out in Kongsvik, Troms, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly. Operational leader Christian Andreassen from the Troms police district reported that two individuals inside the house were evacuated by a random passerby who detected the flames. The alarm was raised around 1:30 AM, and by 2 AM, the house was fully engulfed in fire, triggering a significant emergency response.
Fortunately, all individuals involved escaped unharmed, thanks to the quick actions of the passerby. Officials issued warnings to nearby residents due to unfavorable wind conditions that could expose them to smoke. By 4 AM, firefighters had managed to gain control of the situation, and operations for extinguishing the fire continued into the morning.
Additionally, the proximity of the house to the E10 highway caused temporary road closures while emergency services worked. However, Andreassen later confirmed that the E10 had reopened for normal traffic. This incident highlights the community's vigilance and the effectiveness of emergency responders in managing such unpredictable situations.
