In an overnight operation, Ukrainian air defenses managed to destroy 129 of the 149 Russian drones launched in a recent aerial assault. The attack was comprised of various types of loitering munitions, including the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas. According to Ukraine's Air Force, strikes from 19 attack UAVs were recorded across 15 locations in the country, with debris falling at one additional site.

The drones were launched from several Russian cities, including Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from temporarily occupied Crimea. The overwhelming majority (approximately 100) of the drones were identified as Shahed-type munitions. This large-scale attack showcases the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia and highlights the continuous threats posed by aerial assaults on Ukrainian territory.

As the situation evolves, the involvement of various defense units, including aircraft and electronic warfare capabilities, has been pivotal in intercepting these threats.
