In 2025, Estonia's service exports experienced a notable growth of 10 percent, totaling approximately 13.8 billion euros, while service imports slightly outpaced exports at 11 percent, reaching about 10.6 billion euros. This development resulted in a trade surplus of 3.2 billion euros, which reflects an increase of 204 million euros compared to the previous year. The statistics office highlights that this growth in external trade of services indicates a stable upward trend in the country's economy.
Jane Leppmets, an analyst from the statistics office, noted that the most significant impact on the growth in service exports was attributed to the increase in the export and import of other business services. In 2025, other business services constituted 31 percent of the total service exports, showcasing their importance in the overall trade landscape. Within this category, the leading sectors contributing to the exports included business support services, advertising services, and management services, each playing a crucial role in driving economic activity.
Telecommunications, computer, and information services also represented a significant segment of service exports with 25 percent, further underscoring the diversity and robustness of Estonia's service sector. The steady increase in these areas not only reflects a growing demand for Estonian services abroad but also suggests potential opportunities for further expansion of the economy, fostering a more diversified economic base moving forward.
