SAHCO procures equipment to boost aircraft handling
Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc has acquired advanced Ground Support Equipment to enhance aircraft handling across Nigerian airports.
Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has made a significant investment in new ultra-modern Ground Support Equipment aimed at increasing aircraft handling efficiency in Nigeria. This move is part of the company's strategy to enhance safety, speed up turnaround times, and provide world-class service to its airline partners both domestically and internationally. The company's Public Relations Officer, Mrs Adetola Uansohia, emphasized the importance of this investment in reinforcing operational capabilities at Nigerian airports.
Among the equipment acquired is a high-tech Goldhofer F300 pushback tractor, which was manufactured by the renowned German company Goldhofer. This robust tractor is specially designed to handle large wide-body aircraft and is built to withstand the unique challenges of Nigeria’s operating environment. Already deployed to one of SAHCO’s hub stations, this new equipment is expected to significantly improve ramp operations, allowing for quicker and more efficient aircraft handling.
In addition to the pushback tractor, SAHCO has also procured five Ground Power Units (GPUs), which are essential for providing power to aircraft while on the ground. This acquisition represents a comprehensive upgrade to SAHCO's existing equipment, reflecting the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards in ground support services and ensuring that they meet the growing demands of the aviation sector in Nigeria.
