Taxi driver says he had four tires and wheels stolen in downtown Suzano; video shows action
A taxi driver in Suzano reported that his vehicle's tires and wheels were stolen in the early hours, with a video capturing the theft.
Marcos Silva Guedes, a 40-year-old taxi driver from Suzano, Brazil, reported that his taxi had all four tires and wheels stolen early Tuesday morning, amounting to a loss of approximately R$ 8,000. Despite the significant theft, he has yet to file a police report but is actively seeking additional security footage that could provide evidence of the crime. Current video evidence shows two men involved in the theft, one distracting and the other removing the car parts.
The incident occurred between 2:50 a.m. and 3:20 a.m. while Guedes's taxi was parked in front of a store on Rua Marechal Rondon. He typically parks there overnight due to proximity to his home. Security footage captures the two suspects walking away, each carrying two tires toward the nearby Suzaninho soccer club. Notably, the car's alarm did not activate during the theft, nor was there any noise reported by Guedes, raising concerns about the efficacy of security measures in the area.
Guedes has indicated that he has parked in the same location for over two months without incident, though other thefts have been reported. This situation highlights ongoing concerns about vehicle security in urban Brazilian areas, prompting discussions about community safety measures and potential collaboration with local law enforcement to improve security surveillance around neighborhoods.
