Three cars had their wheels and tires stolen in the North Zone of São Paulo, with thieves leaving concrete blocks under at least one vehicle.

In São Paulo's North Zone, a string of thefts occurred on the morning of Saturday, September 14, when thieves targeted three parked vehicles on Rua Itá in Vila Santos. Residents discovered the crime only after sunrise, noticing that the cars were left on concrete blocks with their wheels and tires missing. The sudden theft highlights ongoing issues of automotive thefts in the area, raising alarms among local residents.

The police were soon on the scene after the incidents were reported, although no suspects were identified or arrested at that point. This incident comes amid a backdrop of vehicle-related crimes in the area, as reported by the public safety authorities. The 38th Police District noted that the investigation into this latest series of thefts would be conducted at their station, indicating community concern about the rising trend of such crimes.

According to the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the first few months of the year saw some fluctuations in vehicle theft statistics, with a report of 123 thefts and 21 vehicle thefts in January alone. While the SSP claims that there has been a 6.1% decrease in thefts compared to the previous year, incidents like these continue to worry residents and underline ongoing security challenges in the urban areas of São Paulo.
