A group that has committed crimes across Finland has been caught – half a million euro haul

A Lithuanian criminal group has been apprehended by police in Finland after committing significant thefts throughout the country, totaling around half a million euros in stolen goods.

The Internal Finland Police Department has revealed the arrest of a Lithuanian criminal group responsible for a series of serious thefts across Finland. The police report indicates that the group has stolen items such as boat engines and valuables. The estimated value of the stolen property is around half a million euros. The investigation began in September when the group stole approximately 200,000 euros worth of boat engines from Valkeakoski. In November, the suspects were captured in the act at a crime scene.

The group is reported to have operated in various locations including Valkeakoski, Porvoo, Sipoo, Raseborg, and Raisio. According to the police, the thefts are categorized as serious crimes and occurred between the years 2024 and 2025. The investigation has concluded, and the case has now been referred for prosecution, highlighting the organized and systematic nature of the group's activities.

The suspects allegedly established residences as bases for their operations and selected targets through online reconnaissance, even utilizing technical equipment to monitor locations in advance. This represents a concerning trend in organized crime in Finland, as authorities work to dismantle such operations and prevent further incidents of this nature.
