Record summer for Ryanair in Warsaw. More flights from Modlin and Chopin Airport
Ryanair announces a record summer in Warsaw with new routes and an expected increase in passenger numbers.
Ryanair has launched three new routes from Chopin Airport in Warsaw, aiming to significantly expand its operations in the city this summer. The airline plans to serve a total of 700,000 passengers from the capital’s airport, marking a 36% increase over the previous year. This expansion is part of Ryanair's broader strategy of strengthening its presence in the Polish market, especially at Modlin Airport, which is set to become a key hub for the airline due to increased terminal capacity and flight options.
Michael O'Leary, Ryanair's CEO, highlighted the airline's impressive growth in Warsaw, announcing a record year for 2026 with an addition of seven new routes from Modlin and three from Chopin Airport. The operational plans for 2026 include basing seven aircraft at Modlin, which will facilitate an ambitious growth target of handling 3 million passengers annually. This aligns with Ryanair’s commitment to enhancing air travel accessibility for residents of Mazovia and catering to increasing demand for flights to popular European destinations.
The development at both Chopin and Modlin airports signifies a crucial step in Ryanair’s growth strategy in Central Europe. The enhanced connectivity through new routes to Leeds, Porto, and Seville is expected to boost tourism and business travel in the region. With these expansions, Ryanair aims to strengthen its competitive edge within the airline industry and cater to the evolving travel preferences of Polish consumers during this busy summer period.
