Information to VG: Star chefs join the national team for the World Cup
Norway's national football team will be supported by top chefs, including Aron Espeland, during the World Cup in the USA.
According to reports, the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) is bringing along top chefs to prepare meals for the national team during the World Cup in the USA. One notable chef, Aron Espeland, known for his television cooking segments with football star Erling Haaland, has been enlisted to ensure that players like Haaland and Martin Γdegaard receive the nutrition needed to compete against formidable teams such as France and Senegal.
In addition to Espeland, the team of chefs will include Eirik Tufte and Christian Karlsson. Karlsson has extensive experience cooking for national teams, including the women's team during the 2019 World Cup and the U20 World Cup last year, as well as a significant stint as the chef for the men's national team. This culinary team will alternate between the national team's training camp in Greensboro and their accommodations at the match hotels in New Jersey and Foxborough, just outside Boston.
The involvement of professional chefs highlights the importance of nutrition in sports, especially at a high level like the World Cup. Proper meals can significantly impact players' performance, mood, and overall well-being. With the inclusion of such expertise in meal preparation, the NFF is clearly keen on maximizing the potential of its athletes as they prepare to face tough opponents on the global stage.
