A Time of Change on the Danė Riverbank: The Former Ferry Building Makes Way for a New Beginning

Plans are underway to replace the former ferry building on Žvejų Street in Klaipėda with a new, larger business center.

Plans have been unveiled by the Klaipėda Municipality for a major transformation along the Danė Riverbank, where the current 560-square-meter ferry building is set to be replaced by a new, two-story structure exceeding 5,000 square meters. This initiative is part of a redevelopment effort that emphasizes modern architectural standards and aims to enhance the quality of the business environment in the area.

The project, commissioned by real estate company 'Elka investicija', proposes significant alterations to the existing building, which dates back to 1959. Documentation released indicates the potential demolition of the old structure and its replacement with a state-of-the-art business center designed specifically to meet contemporary market demands. The architectural plan was developed following a competition led by the company 'UP architektai', with the aim of concluding the development by the end of 2024.

Proponents of the project emphasize the unique location and their commitment to creating a high-class business hub that will provide premium office spaces for leasing. They assert that this development will not only meet the highest standards of quality but will also enrich the market with innovative solutions that promote collaboration and modern business practices.
