Four people died from the flu in the country each week

Four individuals in Lithuania have died from the flu over the past week, most of whom were elderly and had underlying health conditions.

Recent data from the Centro indicates that in Lithuania, four individuals died from the flu in a week's time, predominantly from the 70-79 and 80-89 age groups. It has been noted that all of these individuals suffered from chronic illnesses, and three of them were unvaccinated. Additionally, one person in the same age range died from COVID-19, having similar health conditions and lack of vaccination status.

The National Public Health Centre (NVSC) reports a rising trend in flu and acute respiratory infections, with a surge to 817.5 cases per 100,000 residents. In the same period, 116 people were hospitalized due to the flu, while 28 were admitted for COVID-19, highlighting the ongoing public health challenges the country faces amid seasonal outbreaks.
