Motorcycles seized after teenagers were caught doing 'wheelies' in Manhuaçu

Eight motorcycles were seized in Manhuaçu after a group of teenagers was caught performing dangerous stunts known as 'wheelies' during a police operation.

On Sunday, eight motorcycles were confiscated in Manhuaçu, Brazil, when a group of motorcyclists was caught performing dangerous maneuvers known locally as 'grau' in the Engenho da Serra neighborhood. This enforcement action was part of the 'Safe Transit Operation', conducted by the 11th Battalion of the Military Police in collaboration with the Tactical Road Group from Belo Horizonte, focusing on curbing irregularities in vehicle operation.

During the operation, officers observed the motorcyclists driving at high speeds and performing stunts on public roads. Upon stopping the group, police discovered that five of the riders were aged between 15 and 16 years old and did not possess a valid National Driver's License or any driving permit. Additionally, three other individuals aged 18, 19, and 30 were also checked during the operation, highlighting the concerns about youth participation in risky behaviors and lack of proper licensing among riders in the area.

The seized motorcycles were taken to a licensed Detran yard, emphasizing the authorities' commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and ensuring public safety on the roads. Such incidents raise important awareness about the need for responsible riding practices, particularly among younger populations, and the potential dangers associated with reckless driving.
