Guayaquil's ATM Enables Technical Vehicle Inspection Without Appointments

The ATM in Guayaquil is now allowing vehicle owners to conduct technical inspections without prior appointments due to system issues.

The Transit and Mobility Agency (ATM) of Guayaquil has announced that vehicle owners can now undergo technical vehicle inspections (RTV) without needing to make an appointment. This decision was prompted by intermittent issues with the agency's online appointment system, which prompted a shift to direct attendance at the RTV centers. Users are encouraged to visit the inspection centers directly to ensure they can complete this crucial step in the vehicle registration process.

Currently, the ATM operates three RTV centers located along key routes: one on the Narcisa de JesΓΊs highway, another on the Daule highway (at km 9.5), and a third on Avenida 25 de Julio. Alongside the changes regarding appointments, the ATM has also extended the RTV deadline for vehicles with license plates ending in 1, giving owners until March 14 to comply without incurring penalties. The agency provided this extension in light of the ongoing technical challenges faced by the National Transit Agency (ANT).

This initiative reflects a proactive approach by the ATM to ensure that vehicle owners can maintain compliance with inspection requirements despite technical setbacks. It underscores the importance of the RTV as a critical component in the vehicle registration process, and by allowing walk-ins, the agency aims to alleviate any potential backlog in inspections prior to the deadline.
