Guayaquil's ATM extends vehicle inspection deadline for plates ending in 1

The Guayaquil Transit and Mobility Agency has extended the deadline for vehicle inspections for cars with plates ending in 1 until March 14, without penalty.

On February 27, the Transit and Mobility Agency (ATM) of Guayaquil announced an extension until March 14 for the technical inspection of vehicles whose license plates end in the number 1. This decision allows drivers to complete the required inspection without incurring any fines that would normally apply for lateness in scheduling.

The extension comes in response to service disruptions for vehicle technical inspections caused by the temporary suspension of the National Transit Agency (ANT). It encompasses both private vehicles with the digit 1 on their plates and school transport vehicles that have digits 1 and 2 which couldn’t complete their inspections during February.

For March, the ATM will continue the vehicle technical inspection process according to its established schedule, which will then allow for the inspection of private cars with respective digits as per the calendar. The agency's action serves to mitigate the effects of the previous service interruptions and assist vehicle owners in fulfilling their legal obligations regarding vehicle registration.
