Driving License Without Driving School? Detran-MS Offers Free In-Person Course for First License
Detran-MS is providing a free theoretical in-person course for individuals seeking their first National Driver's License (CNH) in Mato Grosso do Sul, despite the federal government having launched a fully digital study option.
Detran-MS has announced a new initiative to offer a free theoretical in-person course for residents in Mato Grosso do Sul who wish to obtain their first National Driver's License (CNH). This decision comes at a time when the federal government has introduced a digital study program called 'CNH do Brasil,' which allows potential drivers to prepare for their licensing exams online. The state agency aims to provide candidates with the flexibility to choose between traditional classroom instruction with teachers or self-study using an application.
The course will consist of 25 hours of classroom instruction spread over a week, with 20 hours dedicated to essential topics such as Traffic Legislation, Defensive Driving, and First Aid. The remaining 5 hours will focus on solving questions from the National Question Bank to prepare candidates for the official examination, which consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. This structured approach indicates the agency's commitment to ensuring that new drivers are well-prepared for both the theoretical and practical aspects of driving.
Classes will be conducted by instructors from Detran-MS, utilizing classrooms equipped with audiovisual resources, reflecting an effort to enhance the learning experience. By offering this alternative to the digital learning pathway, Detran-MS is addressing the needs of individuals who may prefer a more guided educational experience as they take their first steps towards obtaining a driver's license in Brazil. This initiative also highlights the agency's role in promoting road safety through education and informed driving practices.
