Apple launches iPhone 17e, the 'cheapest' phone in the lineup; see prices and details
Apple has launched the iPhone 17e, a more affordable version of its smartphone lineup, with pre-orders starting in Brazil on March 9.
On March 2nd, Apple unveiled the iPhone 17e, a simplified variant within its smartphone range, aimed at offering customers a more accessible price point. This new model is being introduced in Brazil with pre-orders kicking off on March 9, with prices starting at R$ 5,799. The pricing is consistent with that of the previous model, the iPhone 16e, which was launched in 2025.
The iPhone 17e will be available in three color options—black, pink, and white—and will come in two storage capacities of 256 GB and 512 GB. Interestingly, with its launch, Apple has discontinued the iPhone 15, which was introduced in 2022. Design-wise, the iPhone 17e bears a resemblance to the iPhone 14 and offers features that are similar to those found in the standard iPhone 17 that was released in September last year.
This release indicates Apple's strategy to target a broader market segment with more budget-friendly options while keeping up with its premium offerings. Such a move could attract a new customer base seeking quality smartphones without the compromising price tag usually associated with high-end devices, potentially reshaping its market presence in countries like Brazil.
