On the morning of this Monday, October 2nd, a serious traffic accident occurred on BR-101 at km 165 in Santa Luzia do Itanhy, Brazil, resulting in injuries to six people. The collision involved two passenger vehicles and a motorcycle, and was reported by the Federal Highway Police (PRF). At the time of the incident, rain was falling, which contributed to the loss of control by one of the vehicle's drivers, leading to the head-on collision with another car followed by impact with the motorcycle.
Among the injured, two individuals suffered severe injuries, with one needing to be extricated from the wreckage by rescue teams from the Fire Department. This seriously injured person was subsequently transported to the capital via helicopter by the Tactical Air Group (GTA). The remaining four victims sustained minor injuries, underscoring the potential risk of road accidents during inclement weather conditions.
