Network service average price will rise by 3.4 percent starting in June

Starting in June, the average network service price from Elektrilevi will increase by 3.4 percent due to rising transmission service costs and general inflation.

Beginning in June, Elektrilevi will increase the average price of its network services by 3.4 percent. This increase is attributed to the rising costs of purchasing electricity transmission services and overall inflation, as reported by Elektrilevi. The adjustments will result in monthly fees rising between €0.69 and €2.40 for the most commonly used network packages. For instance, an average apartment owner will see an increase of €0.69 in their monthly fee, while homeowners with a 25 A network connection will face a monthly increase of €1.26. All prices will also be subject to value-added tax.

The changes in the pricing structure will affect only the monthly and throughput fees, while the charges based on the kilowatt-hour of electricity will remain unchanged. Currently, the cost of the transmission service accounts for about 27 percent of Elektrilevi's network fee. The current network fees reflect operational costs based on 2024 levels, and the upcoming price hike is intended to align these fees with the actual increased costs that have arisen since then, as noted by Elektrilevi.

The revenue generated from network fees is utilized by Elektrilevi to maintain the electricity network, ensuring its reliability and efficiency. This adjustment highlights the impact of economic factors such as inflation on utility services in Estonia and raises questions about the affordability of energy for consumers in the region.
