Last week, the average market price of electricity in Latvia and Lithuania increased by 12%, amounting to 215.59 euros per megawatt-hour, as reported by AS 'Latvenergo' through agency LETA. In Estonia, the average electricity price also saw an increase, rising by 6% to 215.27 euros per MWh. Despite a decrease in wholesale electricity prices across much of the Nordic region, prices in Finland and the Baltic states have risen, primarily due to lower output from wind power plants and reduced electricity imports from Finland, which became economically unfeasible as price levels were nearly identical between the two regions.
