Suspect of trafficking arrested with weapon, ammunition, and about 3kg of marijuana in Maceió
A drug trafficking suspect was arrested in Maceió after police found a significant amount of marijuana and a firearm at his residence.
On Sunday evening, a suspect was apprehended by the Civil Police in the Jacintinho neighborhood of Maceió for alleged drug trafficking. The police seized approximately 3 kilograms of marijuana, a .38 caliber revolver, and five rounds of ammunition during the operation. The suspect's identity was not disclosed, but the police had received a tip-off that his residence was being used as a drug sales point.
Upon arrival at the suspect's house, officers were granted entry by the suspect's wife, allowing them to conduct a thorough search. Inside, the suspect admitted to possessing illegal materials and indicated where they could be located. This cooperation facilitated the police's effort to uncover the evidence needed for prosecution.
Following the seizure of the drugs and weapons, the suspect was transported to the Central of Flaggers in Tabuleiro dos Martins, where he was formally charged with qualified drug trafficking, particularly for the use of a firearm in the offense. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by the local authorities to combat drug-related crimes and ensure community safety in Maceió.
