The End of the Rescuers' Winter Chronicles: From a Huge Fire to a Curious Incident with a Fake Human Body
A significant fire broke out in a warehouse in Vilnius, requiring extensive firefighting resources and resulting in substantial damage to the building and its contents.
On Thursday evening in Vilnius, Lithuania, a substantial fire erupted in a warehouse located on Eišiškių plente, covering an area of 8,000 square meters. The warehouse housed electric accumulators and a 10 kWh electrical transformer, which contributed to the challenge of managing the fire. Emergency services deployed an impressive total of 63 firefighters, alongside 11 fire engines and additional firefighting equipment, to combat the blaze effectively. The fire was eventually extinguished by Friday afternoon, although cleanup operations extended late into the night. Thankfully, firefighters managed to protect an adjacent production building and successfully rescued nine vehicles, including eight passenger cars and one commercial vehicle, from the flames.
