Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini presented the state's budget for 2026-27, aiming for the state to achieve a trillion-dollar economy by 2047.
Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, has presented the state budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, which amounts to ₹2,23,658.17 crore, an increase of 10.28% from the previous year's budget of ₹2,02,816.66 crore. This budget outlines a fiscal deficit of ₹40,293.17 crore, accounting for 2.65% of the GDP, alongside details about revenue and capital expenditures. Saini emphasized the financial successes of the nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, positioning India as a rapidly growing economy backed by the strength of its 1.4 billion citizens.
The central objective of the Haryana budget is to transition the state into a trillion-dollar economy by the year 2047. CM Saini mentioned that the budget incorporates the promises made in the government’s manifesto and continues the tradition of former CM Manohar Lal Khattar. Engagement with various societal sectors in Gurugram has taken place, leading to the collection of over 2,000 suggestions via meetings, emails, and letters, all of which were considered for inclusion in the budget.
This ambitious approach not only aims at substantial economic growth but also signals a commitment to participatory governance, allowing for public input in state financial planning. The government's focus reflects both local aspirations and national economic goals, indicating a broader strategy to sync Haryana's development with India's overarching economic trajectory in the coming decades.
