The first Courtyard Super Race will take place in Riga
The Courtyard Super Race in Riga features simultaneous starts for various race distances, encouraging participation with a donation to support children's services in Latvia.
The upcoming 'Pagalma superskrējiens' in Riga is set to become a significant event for the local community and sports enthusiasts, featuring multiple race distances, all commencing at 10 AM on the event day. Participants can challenge themselves to complete one 6.7 km race to earn the title of 'Sprīdītis', or tackle all 12 races for the prestigious 'Lāčplēša' title. Registrations will start early at 8:30 AM, fostering a vibrant atmosphere at the venue.
The event is not just a sporting challenge but also an avenue for charitable contributions, as a minimum donation of 30 euros is requested from each participant, benefiting the Latvian Children's Support Foundation (LBAF). The LBAF emphasizes the critical importance of public support in delivering meaningful services and aid for children in need, highlighted by the foundation's leader, Kaspars Markševics, who underscored the impact of community involvement on their work.
Toms Grēviņš, the voice of Latvian Radio and the event's concept creator, aimed to design a sports festival that would be accessible to everyone, stating that the 6.7 km distance is doable for almost anyone. This inclusiveness ensures that participants, regardless of their fitness level, can take part in this exciting initiative, which promises to combine athleticism with community spirit and philanthropy, making it a noteworthy event in Riga's calendar.
