At the World Ski Orienteering Championships held in Japan, Estonian athletes Olle Ilmar Jaama and Epp Paalberg achieved commendable placements, finishing 29th in the sprint distance category. This marked a significant experience for Jaama, as it was his first appearance in an adult World Championship event. Despite his efforts, he expressed dissatisfaction with his performance, which saw him finish 2.33 minutes behind the winner, Norwegian JΓΆrgen Baklid. This event highlights both the competitive nature of the championships and the challenges athletes face on such a prominent international stage.
Norwegian athlete JΓΆrgen Baklid once again proved his dominance in the sport by winning the gold medal, completing the 3.8 km course in a time of 16:18.
