Young Estonian tennis player reached the quarterfinals in Stockholm U-14 tournament

Young Estonian tennis player Vera Morozova reached the quarterfinals at the Tennis Europe U-14 tournament held in Stockholm.

The Tennis Europe U-14 Super Category tournament, Kungens Kanna & Drottningens Pris, concluded in Stockholm on Sunday, featuring notable performances from young athletes. Vera Morozova, the best Estonian player at the tournament, progressed to the quarterfinals after securing three convincing two-set victories. Initially seeded 12th, she benefitted from the early exit of the second seed in her draw, which facilitated her progression through the rounds.

In the quarterfinals, Morozova faced Maria Kotšerženko from Ukraine, a match that ignited interest among Estonian tennis fans looking back to Kotšerženko's previous encounters. Despite her strong form leading into the match, Morozova lost to Kotšerženko with a score of 6-3, 7-5. Additionally, another Estonian player, Ieva Bželenkov, had a commendable performance with two wins before being ousted in the third round by Giulia Luchetti from Italy, who later emerged as the tournament champion.

Giulia Luchetti's victory in the finals against Kotšerženko highlighted the competitive nature of the tournament.
