City Hall, library, and several day care centers close in Frederiksværk after smoke development from fire

Frederiksværk's City Hall, library, and various day care centers closed due to smoke from a nearby fire at DeNova Recycling.

Today, several institutions in Frederiksværk, including the City Hall, library, multiple day care centers, and a private school, have closed following a significant fire at DeNova Recycling on Havnevej. This fire has produced heavy smoke in the area, prompting Nordsjællands Politi to advise local residents to stay indoors and close their windows for safety. The closures affect around 400 City Hall employees who will not report to work today, and the ability to vote by mail at the City Hall has also been suspended.

Vinderød Privatskole, located about 3 kilometers from DeNova Recycling, is also closed as the smoke has infiltrated the school premises. The school principal, Jette Nord, reported that there is smoke both outside and within the building, making it unsuitable for students and faculty. Emergency services are actively working to extinguish the fire, and the operation is expected to continue until after lunch.

Fortunately, authorities have confirmed that there is no danger of the fire spreading further, and there have been no reported injuries. The swift response from local law enforcement and fire services indicates a coordinated effort to manage the situation and protect the health of local residents while underlining the importance of quick communication during emergencies.
