Christiane Tricerri and Bob Wolfenson revisit Frida Kahlo in an essay
The actress Christiane Tricerri and photographer Bob Wolfenson come together for a project titled 'Frida Desnuda', combining photography and literature to explore the life of Frida Kahlo.
Actress Christiane Tricerri and photographer Bob Wolfenson are collaborating on a new project titled 'Frida Desnuda', which will premiere on Saturday, the 7th, at Rua Berta 106 in São Paulo. This unique artistic endeavor, curated by Berta Moderna, revisits the iconic figure of Frida Kahlo through a blend of photography and literary expression. The event will feature signed and numbered photographs by Wolfenson, coupled with a reading of excerpts from Kahlo's 'Diary' by Tricerri, offering attendees both visual and narrative insights into the artist's life and work.
Bob Wolfenson, known for his fashion photography and portraits, is also launching his newly published book, 'Exteriores', during this event. Last August, he showcased a related exhibition at Unibes Cultural in São Paulo, which celebrated ten years of the cultural center and unveiled a more documentary approach to his artistry. This exhibition included 53 images taken across various cities, such as Shanghai, Paris, Belém, Rome, and São Paulo, spotlighting the global dimensions of his work and emphasizing his evolution as an artist.
'Frida Desnuda' not only underscores the rich legacy of Frida Kahlo but also exemplifies the ongoing cultural dialogue in Brazil surrounding feminism and artistic expression. By intertwining literature with photography, Tricerri and Wolfenson aim to encapsulate the essence of Kahlo's spirit and influence, prompting reflection on her impact in contemporary society.
