Frida Kahlo's legacy is being celebrated with an array of exhibitions slated for the coming years, illustrating the global fascination with her artistry and life. Notably, for the first time, her works will be showcased in Shenzhen, China from July to September 2025, marking a significant moment for her presence in the Asian art scene.
In January 2026, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston will launch an exhibition titled "Frida: The Making of an Icon," which highlights her status and influence in the art world. Following this, the exhibit will travel to the prestigious Tate Modern in London, further cementing her international acclaim and ensuring that more audiences can engage with her unique story and artistic style.
Back in Argentina, the Malba will display artifacts from Kahlo's home, Casa Azul, starting in September, including drawings, corsets, and personal accessories that illuminate her life. Additionally, from February to May, the El Paso Museum of Art will present a collection of 249 photographs from Kahlo's personal archives, offering insights into her domestic life and interactions with notable figures of her time such as Diego Rivera and Man Ray. These events underscore the enduring relevance and recontextualization of Kahlo's work in contemporary culture.
