Poles Stuck in the Middle East. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Will Not Send Planes for Them
Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced it will not send evacuation planes for its citizens stuck in the Middle East, advising alternative routes instead.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that it will not be sending evacuation planes to help Polish citizens currently stranded in the Middle East, citing alternative exit routes available from countries like Israel through Egypt, where flights are still operational. The spokesperson for the ministry, Maciej Wewiรณr, emphasized that the safety of Polish citizens remains a priority, but also noted that many can safely leave the region by other means. This decision comes in the context of ongoing conflict in the region, raising concerns for the safety of overseas citizens.
In light of the escalating tensions and dangers in certain Middle Eastern countries, the ministry has advised Polish citizens to avoid travel to nations like Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine. It has assured that there have been no reports of Poles among the conflict casualties and reiterated their commitment to monitoring the situation closely. The ministry has called for travelers in these countries to exercise heightened caution and stay informed about their surroundings.
To facilitate communication during potential crises, the ministry has reminded citizens to have their identity documents ready, ensure access to communication tools, and register their stay through the 'Odyseusz' application. This app can assist in establishing contact in emergency situations, reflecting the government's proactive approach to safeguard its citizens abroad. With the situation in the Middle East being precarious, the Polish government urges individuals to remain vigilant and prepared in case of any emergency.
