airBaltic suspends flights to and from Dubai
airBaltic has temporarily suspended flights to and from Dubai due to safety concerns and regional airspace restrictions.
airBaltic, Latvia's national carrier, has announced the suspension of all flights to and from Dubai until March 2, primarily due to heightened safety concerns in the Middle East and ongoing regional airspace restrictions. This includes the cancellation of flight BT792 from Dubai to Riga, originally scheduled for March 3. Passengers are advised to refrain from going to the airport until their flight status is confirmed, ensuring safety amid the uncertain conditions.
Passengers affected by the cancellations will have the option to rebook their flights on the nearest available service or request a refund through the airline's website, according to the company's statement. Those who made their bookings directly through airBaltic’s website will receive individual notifications once additional information becomes available. Conversely, passengers who booked through travel agencies are instructed to reach out directly to those agencies for further assistance and updates.
In addition, Latvian nationals in Dubai are encouraged to register with the consular services, reflecting the airline's awareness of the broader implications this situation may have on Latvian citizens. The measures indicate airBaltic's responsibility towards ensuring the safety and satisfaction of their passengers while navigating the complexities of international travel during volatile times.
