Man dies after car falls on him during maintenance in a site in MT

A 43-year-old man died in Lambari D’Oeste, Brazil, after a car he was working on fell on him.

A tragic incident occurred in Lambari D’Oeste, Brazil, where a 43-year-old man named José Carlos Bispo dos Santos lost his life when a car fell on him during mechanical maintenance. The accident happened on Saturday afternoon at a rural property in the Concordia community, approximately 327 kilometers from Cuiabá. According to the police report, the man was performing repairs underneath the vehicle, which was propped up by a support, when the car unexpectedly slipped and landed on his chest.

At the time of the accident, José Carlos was accompanied by his 9-year-old son, who witnessed the horrifying event. The young boy ran to a nearby property to seek assistance for his father. Neighbors quickly responded and managed to lift the car off the victim, but despite their efforts, an ambulance's arrival confirmed that José Carlos had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case has since been reported to the Official Forensic and Technical Identification Department for further investigation. This incident highlights the dangers associated with performing automotive maintenance and stresses the importance of ensuring proper safety measures are in place when working under vehicles.
