Nagpur: Explosion in Explosives Factory, 15 Dead and 18 Serious Injured
A deadly explosion at an explosives factory in Nagpur, India has resulted in 15 fatalities and numerous injuries.
In Nagpur district of Maharashtra, an explosion occurred at an explosives manufacturing company named SBL Energy, resulting in the death of 15 individuals and leaving over 18 others seriously injured. The incident took place while workers were engaged in the production of explosives, leading to a catastrophic fire that engulfed the factory premises. Emergency services are currently on-site to extinguish the fire and provide assistance to the victims.
According to Harsh Poddar, the Superintendent of Police for Nagpur Rural, the blast has led to confirmed casualties, and several injured workers have been admitted to local hospitals for urgent medical care. The local administration is on high alert, with initial rescue operations being coordinated as authorities assess the situation on the ground. Reports indicate that the number of casualties may increase as more information becomes available.
Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the minister in charge, has instructed the administration to take immediate action in response to the explosion and oversee relief efforts for the affected families. The factory, located approximately 80 kilometers from Nagpur city, has raised concerns among local residents regarding the safety measures in place for explosive manufacturing, further leading to calls for a thorough investigation into the incident.
