A unique burger served inside a croissant has gained popularity in Santos, Brazil, showcasing a blend of burger and French culinary techniques.

A newly introduced burger called the Selaburger is capturing the attention of locals in Santos, Brazil, as it is creatively served within an artisanal croissant. This innovative dish is a collaboration between Augustinho Burguer and the Selaví bakery, combining traditional burger-making with elements of French cuisine. The Selaburger features a 180-gram beef patty seasoned with black pepper, melted brie cheese, cooked ham, and a drizzle of truffle honey, all nestled in the flaky layers of a croissant crafted by Selaví, priced at R$ 54.

The inspiration for this unique culinary creation came after Arthur Veloso, the 37-year-old owner of Augustinho Burguer, traveled to France in 2025. He visited cities known for their rich gastronomy, such as Lyon, and returned with a determination to incorporate French culinary elements into his burger offerings. His vision led him to collaborate with Natália and João, the proprietors of Selaví, to develop this distinctive burger that celebrates a fusion of flavors and techniques.

The Selaburger not only illustrates the creativity of local chefs but also highlights the growing trend of culinary experimentation in Brazil, where traditional foods are reimagined in exciting new forms.
