The 'Sebastião' show is set to have a free session at Teatro Amazonas in Manaus, marking the 50th anniversary of Funarte.
The show 'Sebastião' is scheduled to take place at Teatro Amazonas in Manaus this Saturday, featuring a free session to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Arts Foundation (Funarte), which operates under Brazil's Ministry of Culture. This event highlights Funarte's role in promoting the arts in Brazil for five decades. The second act of the celebration will focus on the memory of various theater groups and collectives from around the country.
The programming will begin at 3 PM at the Cultural Center Palácio da Justiça, followed by a roundtable discussion titled 'Groups, Memory, and Archives,' featuring representatives from renowned theater collectives such as Galpão from Minas Gerais, Bando de Teatro Olodum from Bahia, and Tribo de Atuadores Ói Nóis Aqui Traveiz from Rio Grande do Sul. This conversation aims to emphasize the importance of preserving theatrical memory and acknowledges the contributions of these groups to Brazil's cultural landscape.
Maria Marighella, president of Funarte, will open the event and reveal the national mapping of theater groups through the 'Rede das Artes' platform. This initiative intends to foster collaboration among artists, managers, and institutions while celebrating the significant impact Funarte has had on Brazil's artistic history over the past 50 years.
