The Estonian indoor athletics championships kicked off with exciting competitions, showcasing some exceptional talent among the athletes. Notably, Ann Marii Kivikas triumphed in the women's 60-meter sprint, while Karmen Bruus shone in the high jump event, underscoring her impressive capabilities this season.
In the women's pole vault, Inkeri Moser clinched the expected title, clearing 4.15 meters on her second attempt after Tiina Tikk secured silver with a jump of 3.60 meters. Moser displayed a strong performance, achieving a height of 4.30 meters on her first attempt but struggled against the bar set higher at 4.42 meters, where she failed to clear it after three tries. Her victory added to a day filled with high-performance athletics.
Furthermore, Karmen Bruus stood out in the high jump competition, being the only woman to clear the bar set at 1.79 meters. She demonstrated her prowess by jumping 1.82 meters on her third attempt, matching her season-best of 1.85 meters with just one try. However, she could not surpass 1.88 meters. The event also celebrated Eva-Lota Tiisma, who achieved a personal best with a jump of 1.76 meters to secure the second place, and Lisandra Häling, who took home bronze by clearing 1.65 meters.
