The Movement 'For!' will start at the upcoming Saeima elections
The movement 'For!' is preparing to form electoral lists for the upcoming Saeima elections across all five electoral districts in Latvia, aiming for at least 2.5% voter support.
The political movement 'For!' has announced its intention to participate in the upcoming Saeima elections by forming electoral lists in all five electoral districts of Latvia. The party's leadership, including board members Linda Curika, Miks Celmiลลก, and several municipal representatives, will oversee the development of their campaign programs and candidate lists. This marked a significant organizational move as they gear up for the elections slated for the 15th Saeima.
During their congress, the movement set an ambitious goal to secure a minimum of 2.5% of the total voter support, which would then allow them to gain representation in the Saeima. Party chairwoman Linda Curika emphasized the need for a fresh approach in Latvian politics, presenting the elections as a choice between cynicism and respect, indicating a desire to restore faith in political integrity amidst public disillusionment. The prior trust from approximately 34,000 voters during local elections demonstrates a foundation on which they hope to build their Saeima presence.
In addition to their goal of electoral viability, the movement's congress called for a stronger focus on centrist ideas and engaging a broader demographic. Teaming up with various local figures to lead their campaigns, 'For!' is poised to challenge established norms as it strives to translate local successes into national traction, reflecting a growing trend toward diversified political representation in Latvia.
